Terms & Conditions Policies

1) Bumble Bee Hedgies reserves the right to refuse a sale to anyone, and for any reason, if it is believed
that the potential buyer is not a good fit for a hedgehog available for sale!


2) Deposits paid are NON-REFUNDABLE. So please be sure that you want a hedgehog from me before paying your deposit. A completed application form is required, and needs to be honest. I will not refund, if I find false or incomplete information after the deposit was paid! Please be advised that I will investigate all information given.

3) Hedgehogs will not be allowed to go home without proof (pictures) of correct and hedgehog safe cage
set-up. (Bin/tote, 110 qt or more, Hedgehog-safe upright running wheel (12” minimum), 16 oz water bottle, hamster size food dish, non-see through hideout (cardboard box ok), and a non-reptile, non-auto-shut-off heating pad.


Please be aware that I require Picture ID for all my sales. Please bring your current Drivers License or State issued picture ID with you when you pick up your hedgehog, or take a picture and text it to me, if you prefer.

Health Guarantee
  • I guarantee 100% against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (W.H.S.) if it is diagnosed the first 8 months of life. A replacement hedgehog will be given in the event that a Necropsy Report is provided to Bumble Bee Hedgies by a licensed Veterinarian stating that it was in fact W.H.S.
  • The owner of the hedgehog is still responsible for all costs of veterinarian visits as well as shipping and handling costs for necropsy.
  • All Hedgehogs come with a 6 month guarantee against any innate physical defects or genetic issues. A Necropsy Report by a licensed veterinarian, stating cause of death is due to innate or genetic issues, is to be provided to Bumble Bee Hedgies for the death of the hedgehog before a replacement will be given.
  • All Health Guaranties are nullified, if the sick hedgehog shows signs of abuse, poor nutrition, poor hygiene, or neglect.

Deposits and Payments

  • DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE
If you see a hedgehog baby you would like and you want to place on hold (after Priority Waiting List Customers have chosen their baby), contact me via email or text. I will let you know if s/he is still available. At that point you may make a $53.- non-refundable deposit, within 15 minutes (10 minutes for Christmas Babies). $50 of the deposit will go toward your hedgehog. If I have not received a deposit within that time frame, I will offer the hoglet to the next person in line. After payment, I will hold the hedgehog baby for you until it is ready to go home (at approximately 7 weeks old). The Hedgehog must be paid in full at the time of pick up by either a PayPal, Venmo payment, or cash, and must be picked up by the person who purchased the hedgehog. ID is required. All babies must be picked up no later than 8 weeks of age, or as agreed upon BEFORE Deposit is paid. I will hold a hedgehog past 8 weeks for a fee of $5/day, or $30/wk. No exceptions. All pickups are to be scheduled on Weekends between the hours of 1:00 PM and no later than 7:00PM. Exceptions will be made for Christmas babies, for late evenings.

Payments
Bumble Bee Hedgies will no longer take payments. No Exceptions.

Return Policy
  • No refunds will be given, but I will take hedgehogs back on a case to case basis and space availability. However, during COVID, I will not be able to take animals in.
  • Shipping/handling fees (breeders only) are the buyer’s responsibility.

Visits/Pickup
Due to the safety and health of my hedgehogs, I no longer allow visitors.
Babies are ready and may go home at about 7 weeks of age. Before pick-up, You will need to provide a photo of the cage set up, to assure that the hedgehog habitat is safe and covers the basic needs. Please bring a safe pet carrier with you to take your new baby home in.


Once the hedgehog has left the breeder’s care, it is the new owner’s responsibility to care for the hedgehog and to seek care by a licensed veterinarian should s/he become ill.

Shipping
Bumble Bee Hedgies will not ship hedgehogs, unless to an USDA licensed breeders.

Breeding
Bumble Bee Hedgies will give Breeding Rights only to USDA Licensed Breeders within the United States/Canada, or established small hobby breeders, who are under the mentor ship of a licensed breeder. The Buyer may NOT breed with the purchased hedgehog without written permission by the owner of BBH, as inbreeding and health issues could create serious consequences without the knowledge of the hedgehog’s lineage. Any Violations and/or breach of this Agreement, be it willingly or accidentally, will constitute the following amount of set fines:
$1,000. - for each breeding breach.

The buyer will not purchase an animal for another breeder, nor sell/gift it to another breeder for breeding purposes.

Transfer of Ownership
If you cannot keep your hedgehog for any reason, I like to ask you to consider contacting me first. I might be able to help finding a new loving home, or keep him/her with me. However, there is no refund given for returning your hedgie to me. (No returns during the COVID pandemic)

In the event that the hedgehog you bought has to be transferred to another owner, all my guarantees are nullified. I ask that you transfer all paperwork to the new owner, so that the new owner may be able to contact me if the/she has questions about care, or needs help.
